Sexual Assault and Recovery Support Groups

Statistically, one in five women experience a sexual assault in their lifetime and the majority of those assaults occur early in life. The effects of a sexual assault can last for years after the incident, manifested in numerous ways including false guilt and shame, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship problems and more. As a sexual assault survivor, it’s easy to feel isolated, alone and that it would be hard for anyone else to ever understand what you are going through.

We believe there is healing and complete recovery available for every woman who has experienced a sexual assault. To help facilitate this recovery, Set Free Refuge offers a Warrior Spirit Support Group. This group meets once a week for 8 weeks at a time. The group is led by one of our trained therapists who has experience working with sexual assault survivors in a group setting. The goal of this group is to give sexual assault survivors a safe place to begin to explore the pathway toward healing and wholeness, surrounded by a group of other survivors who can offer support and encouragement.
